Webpage File Extension

In our earlier lesson (Website Development Software) we discussed three group of Software namely; Graphic, Multimedia and HTML Editors. These software creates files and in other for the web browser to recognize the type of application, each of this file have unique extension. Some of the extension created by this software can be embedded into WEB Page while some can only be made to be downloadable.

Now let us take a look at each of this extensions.

Graphic Application:- This type of extension can be embedded into the web page as image. Please make sure your image are in one of this format or Web Browser may pop it out for download.

JPG, GIF, BMP, PNG, JPG2.

Multimedia Application:- This type of extension can be embedded into web page as presentation. Multimedia files are mostly been viewed by the aid of ActiveX They are described bellow:-

*SWF:- Flash ( This will only display if an ActiveX called Macromedia Flash Player is installed on the website viewer system).
